Our courses can be delivered at your premises or at RJA’s training facility at Farnborough Airport.

We offer:

Ground Security Operatives (GSO) Initial Training

The Aviation Ground Security Operatives (GSO) Initial Training Course is a mandatory UK requirement for all personnel involved in the security of the Security Restricted Area (SRA) and the airport. A provision of the relevant knowledge and skills to provide effective security in accordance with the relevant legislation.

The course is valid for a period of 12 months after which candidates are required to undertake the Ground Security Operatives (GSO) Recurrent Training Course (see below).

Duration: 5 days

Ground Security Operatives (GSO) Recurrent Training

On successful completion of the above Aviation Ground Security Operatives (GSO) Initial Training Course, individuals are required to undertake the Ground Security Operatives (GSO) Recurrent Training Course every 12 months in order to retain the qualification.

Duration: 1 day

Ground Security Supervisor (GSS) Initial Training

The Aviation Ground Security Supervisor (GSS) Initial Training Course is a mandatory UK requirement to provide the supervisors of ground security operatives with the relevant knowledge and skills to allow them to effectively supervise the security duties carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation.

The course is valid for a period of 12 months after which candidates are required to undertake the Aviation Ground Security Supervisor (GSS) Recurrent Training Course (see below).

Duration: 2 days

Ground Security Supervisor (GSS) Recurrent Training

On successful completion of the above Aviation Ground Security Supervisor (GSS) Initial Training Course, individuals are required to undertake the Aviation Ground Security Supervisor (GSS) Recurrent Training Course every 12 months in order to retain the qualification.

Duration: 1 day

Aviation X-Ray and Hold Baggage Screening (HBS)

The Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) Course is for individuals who wish to become x-ray operatives.

Duration: 6 hours (plus a minimum of 15 hrs ‘On the Job’ supervised training.)

Aviation X-Ray and Cabin Baggage Screening (CBS)

The Cabin Baggage Screening (CBS) Course is for individuals who wish to become x-ray operatives at security screening check points.

Duration: 6 hours (plus a minimum of 15 hrs ‘On the Job’ supervised training.)

Aviation X-Ray Competency Test (NXCT) – Hold Baggage

The National X-Ray Competency Test (NXCT) is a mandatory examination to be carried out by all personnel upon completion of their 15 hours ‘On the Job’ x-ray supervised training.

Duration: 1 hour

Aviation X-Ray Competency Test (NXCT) – Cabin Baggage

The National X-Ray Competency Test (NXCT) is a mandatory examination to be carried out by all personnel upon completion of their 15 hours ‘On the Job’ x-ray supervised training.

Duration: 1 hour

Pass Management and Aviation Authorised Signatory Training

The authorised signatory performs a critical role in the airport pass scheme. Your function as the authorised signatory is to sponsor applications for an airside pass, having satisfied yourself that the applicant has a legitimate need for access to the Security Restricted Area and is a suitable person having successfully completed a background check.

In our training we will give insights and shared experience to give you all the tools to compliantly verify your companies staff members when applying for airside passes.

Duration: ½ day

Aviation GSAT

Aviation regulations determine that staff who require an airside pass complete a General Security Awareness Training (GSAT) course before applying. Our GSAT course is suitable for a wide range of airport staff and has been designed and developed by our training team.
